Volunteers! Here Are Some Ways To Help IRV Keep Growing! The St. Paul Better Ballot campaign is a grassroots effort. This means we need all the volunteer help we can get! Here’s how you can help: 1~ Collect petition signatures. We need to collect 5000 signatures by May 4th!! This is a lot of signatures and we can’t do it without you. Go to http://stpaul.betterballotcampaign.org/stpaul/petition to download the petition (with instructions). Talk to your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers – anyone who will listen – about why you support IRV and why they should help put IRV on the ballot in November. If you attend a candidate forum, take your clipboard along and pass it around. We have orange literature to hand out too. Don’t wait – we only have two more months to go. It’s easy and if supporters collect just 10 signatures, we’d likely meet our goal! Contact james@betterballotcampaign.org to get literature or more information. 2~ If you are a delegate to your DFL ward convention, we need your help to phone other delegates before the convention and to gain more supporters on convention day. Don’t forget to sign up to become a delegate to the city convention on June 9th. Our goal is to get Saint Paul DFL endorsement at the city convention. We need you there! Contact james@betterballotcampaign to volunteer. 2~ Of particular need at present are data entry volunteers. Our system is fabulous, you can do data entry from home when ever you have a spare minute or two! Amazing! Join Troy Trooien on his quest to enter all outstanding data by April 6. It. Can. Be. Done. Contact stpaul@betterballotcampaign.org to help. 4~ 3~ Host a house party! This is a REALLY FUN way to educate friends and neighbors about IRV. We’ll help you get it organized and we’ll provide a speaker and someone to help coordinate a demo election at the party. To get started, see our “How to Host a House Party” guide at http://stpaul.betterballotcampaign.org/stpaul/houseparty.
