With five of seven DFL ward conventions under its belt, the Better Ballot Campaign is moving full steam ahead in its plan to get an IRV referendum on the November ballot. Read here for information about the conventions thus far. We can use your help on the morning of April 21 (ward 2) and and afternoon of April 22 (ward 3) as we finish the DFL ward conventions. Chip into your 15 minutes of fame by making a recorded statement in support of IRV as part of a St. Paul E-Democracy project. Join the Better Ballot Campaign on April 23 sometime between 3-5pm at Rondo Community Center with your spin on why St. Paul should welcome instant runoff voting--and then see your thoughts blasted across cyber space on YouTube. The St. Paul Better Ballot campaign is a grassroots effort. This means we need all the volunteer help we can get! This week we feature two ways to bring a better ballot to St. Paul. 1- Stick it to Your Pal- If you have a friend or neighbor who is a "St. Paul celebrity" (meaning well liked or well-known--preferably both) please ask them to be a public supporter of IRV. Let us know, and we will add their name to our growing list and share the great news with other supporters. Community groups can also be supporters. Please invite us to come speak to your board of directors or neighborhood group. Here's how to reach us! 2- Have a Party- The best way to learn about IRV is to actually do it! So have a party with a theme, and then vote on that theme IRV Style. Some ideas: Desserts, Wine and Cheese, Spring Footware, Disco Tunes, Hardy Garden Plants, and so on.. Better Ballot Campaigners will gladly come to your party and do a little IRV presentation. Just ask! Contribute
