Every Saturday morning at 10 am, the campaign will be at Cahoots Coffee Shop at Selby and Snelling to gather petition signatures and answer questions about Instant Runoff Voting. The campaign website now features a "Sign the Petition" button! - Spread the word about this by email or phone so that all supporters will actually sign the petition. Summer Fun With IRV
We only have until August 1 to get the 3,000 more signatures that are needed for the Better Ballot Campaign to put Instant Runoff Voting on the ballot in November. Fortunately, the campaign team believes that IRV supporters love a summer parade. Grab your friends, family of all ages, neighbors and your clipboard (we have 'em if you need one) and join us at any of the petitioning events on the calendar, but especially at the following community parades and festivals: 1. Wednesday, July 4, 10 am, St. Anthony Park 60th Annual 4th of July Parade, from Luther Place down Como to Langford, followed by speeches, activities and music at Langford Park. Meet at Finnish Bistro at Como and Carter at 9:30 am. 2. Thursday, July 12, 7 pm, White Bear Avenue Parade, from Maryland to Larpenteur, followed by the Ramsey County Fair. Meet at 6:30 pm at Dairy Queen on White Bear Ave, between Hoyt and Montana (a few blocks south of Larpenteur). 3. Saturday, July 21, 10 am, Rondo Days Grand Parade, from St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at 1060 W. Central to Martin Luther King Park at 270 N. Kent Street, followed by festival events. Meet at 9:30 am sharp at Mississippi Market at Selby and Dale. 4. Saturday, July 28, 6 pm, Rice Street Parade and Festival, at the end of a day of activities, including a talent show, at Capitol Bank parking lot at 1020 Rice Street. Meet at 5:30 pm at the Subway at Front and Rice Street. Email Beth if you are able to attend one, two, three or all four of the parades this summer, or if you'd like to attend a different petitioning event. All petition gathering volunteers will be invited to our fantastic volunteer thank-you BBQ on Friday, August 31 to celebrate our petitioning success. Ten In Ten Challenge
Remember the Ten In Ten Challenge email sent Tuesday? Make it happen by gathering one signature every day for ten days. Make two copies of the petition form and email Beth if you need help.
